However, we believe it’s more important than ever to develop a strong transition plan. As you likely know, the age of farmers and landowners is the oldest in history. And, as we look ahead a record amount of farm wealth is estimated to change hands over the next 10 to 15 years. 

A few estimates from industry surveys indicated nearly one-half of family farms don’t have a written succession plan and two-thirds of farmers have children who don’t actively farm. Of these, nearly one-half have not identified a farm successor.
